Firm Introduction & History
Stiles, Wallace & Associates is an architectural firm, which has enjoyed 71 years of uninterrupted practice in Lubbock and the West Texas Area. In 1953, Marvin L. Stiles, a graduate of Texas Tech College and a 14 year associate of Haines and Kirby Architects, joined E.E. Roberts, a professional structural engineer, to establish the firm of Stiles, Roberts and Associates. The firm experienced a steady growth from 1953 to 1971, during which time the firm name was changed to Stiles, Roberts, Messersmith & Johnson (SRMJ). In 1972, M. Edward Stiles, son of Marvin Stiles and a graduate of Texas Tech University, returned from active duty with the U.S. Army to join the firm as a full time employee. Five years later Edward Stiles became a general partner and the firm was reorganized as Stiles & Stiles, Architects. In 1990 W. Craig Wallace joined the firm as a part time employee while attending Texas Tech University and became a full time employee following graduation from Tech in May of 1993. In September of 2000 W. Craig Wallace became a general partner and the firm was reorganized as Stiles, Wallace & Associates.
